Visiting Varanasi was intense, mind- and heart-opening, chaotic, mesmerizing, profound, and unforgettable.
I loved being immersed in the countless temple rituals, and meditating by a sacred fire that has been burning continuously for over 3,500 years—the very flame used to cremate bodies on the shore of the Ganges. Witnessing the cremation rites and the rhythm of daily life along the river—locals and visitors alike, each performing their own sacred rituals at the Ganges, became a daily mindfulness practice. The delicious street food, the most exquisite lassis, and the sheer sensory overload, the public yoga classes, Sungazing over the Ganges, all added to the magic.
But what probably left the deepest impression on me was finally meeting Jesumiel and the children of @newlife.varanasi. She is someone who effortlessly bridges spirituality and everyday life, making the earth itself feel sacred—especially for those who need it the most. I have met few people as devoted, clear in their mission, selfless, and utterly surrendered to the divine will as she is. And she does it all with humility, joy, and the most natural grace.
Please follow their work, and if you see what I see, consider supporting them in whatever way feels right to you.

Success (Castellano 👇
Here’s another symbol from the collaboration with my dear friend Pablo @lopeztatarchenko . This time, he first shared the message he received, so I could bring its symbol through.
Here’s the translation from Pablo’s narration in the reel:
✨ Success is not about making a lot of money.
It’s doing what you love all the time, without struggle.
Do what you love, and you will be success.
💫 You’ll see how your mind finds rest.
🏡 Live where you love to live, and you will feel the joy of existing.
❤️ Live with those you love, and you won’t wish to harm the one beside you.
🌿 Success is nothing more than fulfilling your purpose.
And fulfilling your purpose is doing what you love, successfully.
💖 So remember, success is not achieved through suffering and pain.
Success is achieved through lightness and love.

An Offering 🪷 I always feel that making a visible offering to something invisible is a psychomagical act. It lets me practice letting go of attachments, and connects me with impermanence as well as generosity, humility, and gratitude.
This act of giving to something or someone outside of us is, in truth, an offering to ourselves—because of the cosmic law: “What is outside is inside.” When we give, we also receive. When we receive, we also give.
To honor and surrender to something unseen and bigger than us, is to honor creation itself—including ourselves. Every guru, every saint, and every sacred idol is here to remind us of the divine potential within us.
Today, I had the chance of offering a lotus flower to the Mahabodhi Tree, under which Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment and became the Buddha over 2,500 years ago. The message I received was simple:
✨ It can be any tree, and anyone. ✨
It does not require dogma, effort, or sacrifice. It only requires intention, presence and love.
In Buddhist philosophy, duality is an illusion—what we see outside is a reflection of what is within.
🪷 The lotus we offer is already blooming inside us.
🙏 The Buddha we bow to is also within us.
Many blessings from Bodh Gaya, a truly unusual place. We left our phones outside the temple, so just imagine the vibrant Mahabodhi Tree, where thousands gather each day to pray, offer gifts, and pay their respects. All around, the air is filled with the voices of monks chanting in different languages from every corner of the world. The photos are just random shots from different sacred places we managed to visit despite the Holi celebrations in Bodh Gaya.

The final week of the Panchakarma days. After a week of drinking medicated ghee, my body was massaged for three days to move the loosened toxins into the digestive system, preparing for their final release through purgation. The process was intense yet deeply purifying.
As my system emptied, simple foods were carefully reintroduced. Swapna made the most nourishing pumpkin soup, and my doctor even brought me homemade khichdi, each spoonful grounding me back into balance.
That week also coincided with the grand celebration of Deepam and the winter solstice, a time of inner and outer illumination. The detox seemed to echo this—shedding the old, making space for clarity. As my body surrendered to the process, the ink captured the silent movements of transformation on paper.

Today and every day, I honor the divine feminine energy present in all beings, beyond gender.
🙌🏼 Now more than ever, we are called to embrace our yin qualities—receptivity, nurturing, deep inner knowing, fluidity, creation, and dissolution. These qualities create space for compassion, patience, and the courage to release what no longer serves us, awakening a deeper awareness of life’s interconnectedness.
🔥Let’s reclaim the feminine voice that has so often been silenced—by giving ourselves permission to create freely, expressing what flows from the heart and soul.
💜 Two women who have inspired me in recent months embody spiritual devotion and surrender in their own unique, courageous ways:
✨ Hilma af Klint (1862–1944, Sweden) surrendered to creative forces, allowing higher consciousness to move through her art.
✨ Azhagammal (1864–1922, India), Ramana Maharshi’s mother, teaches us that through surrender, devotion, and presence, something beyond the personal self is revealed.
❤️🔥 The next image is the Kali Yantra, which, for me, serves as an invitation to move beyond the surface of celebration into the depths of true empowerment. The feminine is not only nurturing and soft—it is also fierce, untamed, and limitless.
🪷 May this energy guide us towards freedom from fear, radical transformation, and fierce compassion.
🙏🏼 Last but not least, thank you for my mother, sisters and so many women in my life who inspire, support and nurture me, who laugh and cry with me, get naked with me, hold space for whatever is needed and take no bullshit but love and live with courage and authenticity. Thank you also for more and more men in my life who are unafraid to embody their feminine essence with strength and grace. I love you all, even if I couldn’t find a photo of us today.

From the series Days Within, these drawings capture the first seven days of my Panchakarma journey a few weeks ago.
Each morning, I drank medicated ghee—a clarified butter infused with healing herbs. Not the most pleasant ritual, but essential to loosen toxins (Ama), lubricate tissues, and prepare the body for deep detoxification.
My wonderful Ayurvedic doctor @drparvathy_chandran put me on house arrest—an instruction I gladly followed, allowing myself to rest, meditate, write, and paint while my body and mind underwent profound cleansing.
There’s something truly powerful about pressing pause. To step away from routines, habits, and the to-dos. To fast—not just from food, but from social engagements, even spiritual practices—so the mind and body can reset and gain new perspectives.

If there was only one thing I could take with me from Arunachala, it would be silence.
Not literal silence—because this is India, and India is never truly “silent.” But there is a sacred Silence beneath the layers of cacophony: peacocks and car horns, Vedic chanting and street vendors, cows and funeral drums.
This Silence—filling the spaces between all sounds—is infused with peace and bliss. You can catch it in the faces of the saints, in the leaves of the creepers outside Skandashram, in the flowers offered in countless acts of devotion, and simply by gazing at the sacred hill, even from the most chaotic street.
And this Silence is within all of us. All we need to do is tune into it, make space for it, honor it—and it will fill us with love and peace, compassion and joy, wherever we are.
Thank you, Arunachala Shiva, Sri Ramana Maharshi, Sri Mouna Swami, and Aum Amma, for transmitting grace, wisdom, and infinite love through silence.

Arunachala Divine Flow
2024
Lately, fish have been appearing in my paintings.
For me, they symbolize flow, moving effortlessly through situations, emotions, ideas, and realms. In Hinduism, fish are linked to Matsya, Vishnu’s first incarnation, representing protection and guidance through the cosmic waters of change.
I call these Shivafish because of their trident-shaped tails. The trident (trishul) is Shiva’s weapon, embodying the dissolution of illusion and the balance of creation, preservation, and destruction. Here, the fish seem to move between dimensions—perhaps as carriers of Shiva’s presence, guiding energy between Arunachala and the cosmos, inviting us to surrender to the current of divine will.

/Castellano 👇/ Flowmotion is one of three symbols that came through after my friend Pablo @lopeztatarchenko invited me to create them. In the video, you can hear him narrate the message he received while looking at the piece, with the English translation afterwards.
I’m really enjoying this collaboration—tapping into the invisible to make it visible, being guided, receiving and sharing, embracing creativity and its magic. 🥰🙏🏼✨

In the Silence of Arunachala
In Arunachala, silence is piercingly visible—
ever-present in the cacophony of traffic,
both in the streets and within our heads.
It emerges from within the coconut
when it’s cracked open.
You can feel it between the rock
and the sole of your feet.
Ever present in Ramana’s eyes,
it wraps around us like the thickest, softest blanket,
holding us tight so grace may descend.
Because silence is never just silence.
It fills our ears with music
and our soul with wisdom.
It empties our hearts
so we can fill them with love.
It bridges our exhales with our inhales,
birth with death and death with life.
It spirals down, deep into the beggar’s shell.
It holds the answer to the question.
With love,
jl 🦋
